I purchased the Tech 21 Power Engine after reading many reviews and listening to sound samples using the POD HD500 . The quality of the sound is outstanding for a solidstate amp. I am running the HD500 with the Tech 21 PE. The amp is plenty loud enough for most any situation. Plus you can send the xlr out to the board. It does'nt have the warmth of a tube amp. But it truly sounds great for $300.00 and play as pay from ZZounds. You can't go wrong
