About the ISP Technologies ProRackG String 2-Channel Stereo Mod Noise Reduction

This version of the ProRackG is a custom version for rack designers. This system provides connections that require the guitar to be plugged into the line input jack (1) and the input of the amplifier to be plugged into the line output jack (2). This will allow the decimator to track your guitar signal more accurately and with more precision. Channels 1 and 2 are both available to provide noise reduction for 2 separate effects loops or stereo channels. Note: the diagram below illustrates only one configuration possibility.

Very transparent and quiet. You don't notice it's there and does everything it's supposed to. This unit doesn't seem to alter my sound which is a common problem with many noise gate units and since it tracks the input signal and also the effects loop(s) of your amp(s) it's very efficient at what it does. The only drawback just like with any other noise gate that tracks the guitars input is that it doesn't work well when you roll back the volume on your guitar. It just cuts off the signal too soon but that is to be expected based on how these units work. If this is your first noise gate then please be advised that a noise gate will not actually remove noise from your tone when you're playing. It simply cuts off any signal when you stop playing. This means that it doesn't remove any background noise, amp hiss, ground loop hum, etc... from your tone while you're playing. The units that do that are called noise suppressors and they will alter your tone. This is why before purchasing a product like this I would recommend you go through your signal chain and identify and get rid of any noise sources. If that doesn't help or you play with very high gain or turn up your amp quite loud at live gigs then I would wholeheartetly recommend this product as it's probably the best noise gate on the market right now.
